Shawn is a physician and Munk Senior Fellow with the Macdonald-Laurier Institute. He is author of When Politics Comes Before Patients: Why and How Canadian Medicare is Failing, and No More Lethal Waits - 10 Steps to Transform Canada's Emergency Departments. Shawn has served in a number of clinical, board, and other leadership roles over the past 20 years. He served as president of the Ontario Medical Association, in 2017-18.
