Jason Dion is Chief Impact Officer at the Clean Economy Fund, where he is responsible for incubating and resourcing initiatives that support giant leaps toward a prosperous, net-zero emissions future for Canada.
Jason is one of Canada’s pre-eminent experts on net-zero, having helmed a 2020 initiative that produced definitive modelling of Canada's available pathways to a net-zero future. An economist by training, Jason has a long track record of executing influential research, engagement and communications in Canada’s climate space. Prior to joining Clean Economy Fund, Jason was Senior Research Director at the Canadian Climate Institute, where he oversaw its mitigation research team, its Indigenous research team and its 440 Megatonnes team. He also served on the Canada Electricity Advisory Council, where he chaired the planning and utility regulation working group. Prior to his work at the Institute, Jason was Lead Researcher with Canada’s Ecofiscal Commission, which successfully built the case for provincial and federal carbon pricing, and a project manager at the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD).
Jason lives in Ottawa with his wife, their two young children and one senile dog.
